Baby Kicks. School teasers now cool

March 18, 2013

When I was at school, no one was extremely well off. I mean some kids’ parents were doing ok but it was taken into effect that there were some kids that were a little less well off.
Well it’s time for them to be laughing. Mainly at the fact that they were trend setting and the fact that all the shit they copped for wearing KT26 Dunlops and Volleys of the same mark now should be repaid in some victim’s compensation style repayment and apology.

Hipsters have not only brought Volleys and KT26 to the point of cool but some warp in the space time continuum has torn and ever the baby versions are being pushed into the market place as the type of cool you would stuff your hipster child in.

So I was pretty surprised to see all these. And before you ask me to apologise to the kids that were rocking KTs spare a thought for me when I worn my mothers purple sneaks to school or my lynx Jordan 5 knock offs.
My kid’s no punk. But he or she is currently being stuffed into shells or Air Force ones. Baby ones, and they too are pretty affordable, and I do this cause as a parent I know the quality is the same if not better and now as a parent I can provide these shoes for my kid.
I will not pay the same price for a lesser quality allegedly locally made shoe because hipster punks and hard core made them cool for zero year olds.

Just my humble opinion.

Each to their own peeps.
They are cute though. Most things this small are cute. Except for wasps and spiders.

Sydney Food list [via SMH]

March 11, 2013

Yeah I have been meaning to find a top ten of places to eat in Sydney that are real places to eat. Not ‘you-have-to-change-what-you-wear-places-to-eat’, but ‘have-a-shower-put-your-phone-in-your-pocket-and-jam-your-kicks-on-and-waltz-into-places-to-eat’.

Sydney Morning Herald have just published such a list. Which I find a lot easier than making my own, mostly due to the fact I don’t have to do it.  and this is it;

The bucketlist of bargain eats

charcoal chicken with peri peri, and chips

as time goes on over the next few months, I am vowing to get to one of these places every month, or couple of weeks and give each one of the culinary delights a rating.

I will call it the ‘Panda-Michelin Man- Rating’. I have decided it will be in stars also, and find this to be only a coincidence that Michelin chooses that format too.

Wish Me luck.

iPhone sleeping bags. So cozy.

March 1, 2013

So I figured it was time to combine my wallet and phone situation. It was getting to the point where I was going to have to exchange all the pants in my wardrobe with army fatigues to fit all the stuff I need to carry.
I wanted something a bit unique. Not Emo hair and Iron Maiden tshirt unique. A little more unique. Maybe Freddy Mercury’s opera song unique.

So I went to Esty. Hoping for no Regretsy.

I found these device wallets from Rockitbot.

They fit all your nerdy stuff in it. Headphones, USB, couple of cards and of course your phone.

The sellers on Etsy always seem to take care of the finer details. Making the purchase somewhat more personalised.

20130301-212348.jpg

It even came with a cute little pencil. Which makes it a thousand times cuter.

20130301-212453.jpg

The bow is perfect.
The wallet is cool. Fits the phone well without being too big and annoying. It has cut down my phone fiddling and the lining makes me feel a little like a hipster. It’s nice also to know that there probably isn’t another one in these colours around as they are hand made. Cute patterns me thinks.

20130301-212727.jpg

It came with a little card holder but I haven’t used in order to cut down on bulk.

The wallets suits the purpose and I would highly recommend. They make the ‘Nerdherder’ for various phones. And with the excellent quality and personalisation of the the wrapping and packaging I would buy another for the theatrics alone.

Heads to Rockitbot‘s Etsy shop and buy buy buy. You’ll love it.

Now just to get a suit made in the same fabric and lining.

Face blindness

January 19, 2013

Look. I don’t know. Is this crazy?

Host: “hey do you recognise this person?” shows picture of Elvis with his hair covered.

Person: “no”.

Come on. Could this be for real? I stumbled across it on Rhett and Link’s Youtube channel.

Watch the first part of this 60 Minutes expose. I am sure the science supports it but I am also sure I could turn this condition on right now. Especially with people I have met and don’t like..”Who are you again? Nope, don’t know you strange person I have to go now so we don’t have to talk about your kettle cover knitting project”

Rhett and Link talk about facial blindness

Blog shelf life

January 19, 2013

I remember reading some where that the life of the average ‘good’ blog, not insinuating that this blog is good is around 2 years. After this time, the creator usually has better things to do with their Saturday nights, such as:

1. Go to a bar and rage with their fans, amassed from the 2 years of hilarious writing.

2. Simply stop being and able to think up new ideas, including being able to think.

3. Found better things to do with their life, aside from trolling David Koch read:’cock’ on twitter for his idiotic comments around women breast feeding in public.

4. Switch over to being a hip new cool Dad blog because you have had children, and thought it would make you popular around preschool pick up time, with the non existent other nerd dads. (Even though I love askyourdadblog.com I still don’t believe it actually exists, ans is the product of another university dorm room born blog.

5. Turf their back lawn.

6. They start a professional career in extreme pogo-sticking (see video below). Not sure if its crazy or amazing BTW.

I really don’t want to see Pandainabattlesuit die. Sure my life is pretty busy with Mrs Panda and I now having three little ones under five, and being a manager in a large health related building probably doesn’t help. Nor does living in a city where it takes 39mins to drive 2.3kms to get home to your house. Surely I could write from my iPhone.

Why don’t I do that anymore?

I made a new year’s resolution not to make blogging my new years resolution. If anyone found out that was my new year’s resolution, I would be ridiculed for an extremely long time. Jogging every day seems like a much easier alternative, and it is more acceptable to not adhere to it.

I will promise though how ever in frequently, and when people do return my request for pocket interviews very amateurish ones at that I will post those too.

Or pogo videos, you decide.

Another soul. Left for no one

December 6, 2012

This is where it ends for this brave clothes displaying soul. Disconnected. Separated from the core of its use. Such a shame. Will any one find and reunite this hand in death?

Who knows.

Waterbobble

November 22, 2012

I love this new water bottle I purchased from the local super market. It is called Water Bobble beautiful simple design and carbon water filter to boot.

20121122-150718.jpg
Seems as though I am a bit in love with clear water bottle design. I do have a feeling that one day we will see a tank girl style water currency. Facilitated by watching films like that and Idiocracy make it true. Don’t they?
This bottle looks pretty though huh?

20121122-150931.jpg
The filters are replaceable but a bit expensive. At approx $10 each they do 330 refills I think.
And at $17 a litre bottle that works out to be very good replacement for water bottled water.

20121122-151134.jpg
Go and buy one.
It looks good just sitting there. Or anywhere for that matter.

Apple pandemonium

September 20, 2012

Some scenes outside the apple store in Sydney right now on the eve of the launch.
Would I do it? Probably not. Crazy. People.
Pay attention to the tent. Also the beautiful stairs inside.
