Sydney Food list [via SMH]

March 11, 2013

Yeah I have been meaning to find a top ten of places to eat in Sydney that are real places to eat. Not ‘you-have-to-change-what-you-wear-places-to-eat’, but ‘have-a-shower-put-your-phone-in-your-pocket-and-jam-your-kicks-on-and-waltz-into-places-to-eat’.

Sydney Morning Herald have just published such a list. Which I find a lot easier than making my own, mostly due to the fact I don’t have to do it.  and this is it;

The bucketlist of bargain eats

 dumplings, every which way

Paul’s Famous Hamburgers

Go for
 a burger with the works

Spice I Am

ho mok – steamed fish curry with banana leaf

Silvas
1/82-86 New Canterbury Road, Petersham 9572 9911
Go for
charcoal chicken with peri peri, and chips

as time goes on over the next few months, I am vowing to get to one of these places every month, or couple of weeks and give each one of the culinary delights a rating.

I will call it the ‘Panda-Michelin Man- Rating’. I have decided it will be in stars also, and find this to be only a coincidence that Michelin chooses that format too.

Wish Me luck.

Autobots temp tattoo giveaway

September 16, 2012

So to commemorate almost 600 articles of varying degrees on Pandainabattlesuit.com I am giving away a one full set of 80s Autobots tattoos, the temporary kind, of course, although permanent 80s Autobot tattoos would be cool too.
How to win??!? Well the first person to have five of their friends follow either here or on facebook or both and leave a comment containing, “Ironhide has swagga” or “starscream is my bitch” indicating your ever dying love for Autobots team an also the name of the friend that referred them will get the tattoos.
Which by the way look like this

There are six in total. They are totally rad. And you will be the envy of all of the people in the world including the 1%ers who earn up to $15000 per day. And could by an Autobot. Or at least make one.

Alternatively you can write a short story about how the Autobots have touched your life.

I will post the ten best stories an at random choose a winner to receive the awesome tattoos.

It’s do or die peeps.
Yes I did just say peeps.

Roll out.

Winners will be contacted by email

Being a tough ‘hipster type’ nerd/geek

August 25, 2012

Every one is always contemplating ‘getting a tattoo’. I think this is just people contemplating committing to one thing, anything they can find for life. It is probably cheaper than a long term relationship based on sloth and video games, but probably doesn’t really convert to marrying your beautiful wife and committing to her and having some beautiful children.

I know big rant for tattoos.

In saying that I have done the later, now for the former.

I got some tattoos. About 40 or so of them actually. From Tattly.com

All are awesome. And so good for both adults and children.
I secretly how ever don’t want to share them with the children.
Here are some of the cool ones I bought.

I really like monsters. Cute ones that is. Ones that will bite but wouldn’t necessarily hurt. They would steal all the cheese and biscuits from the fridge.

I got a bunch of different ones from peacocks to lattés, monsters to Vern diagrams. Even a peacock.

They last forever and look well cute

Girl. Sans vagina.

Meet the girl with no boobs or who who.
Amazing read from the amazing peeps at Vice
A story of a girl with a pretty hard knock life and her ordeal of losing her sexuality bit by bit and then taking it back one cam session at a time.
Perhaps NSFW. In most offices.

Just goes to show how fucked and understated Crohn’s disease is and how drugs play a pretty crucial role in self health decisions. You won’t read a more confronting story this month unless you are a forensic social worker.

Pebble. E-Paper Amazingness

April 18, 2012

I just pledged for one of these. It looks amazing. I am not getting a colour one, just the jet black, and I  feel, it is my duty to tell all society about this.

What started as a $100000 kickstarter project now has 3.5 million dollars backing and will ship come September 2012, all still with 28 days of pledging to go.

The watch isn’t touch screen like my MNML Lunatik but instead crazy functional. To the point where I just couldn’t speak, and it integrates with your iPhone (or Android, whichever your persuasion).

What’s that?, Your phone just sent an email that was important, via Blue tooth to your ‘Dick Tracy style’ awesome watch?

I just cannot get over this one. Yeah, I could go and buy Sony’s new Android watch for around the same price but this watch interacts with my phone.

It should be a goodie, I will do a full review when it ships come September. An remember there are still plenty of pledges left, so you should go and get one.

Cardboard Arcade anyone?

April 11, 2012

I am buying a super-pass. I love Children’s’ imagination, especially the check code on the front of all the machines.

At our house. Gum leaves are ‘tickets’ and tree branches, are bad witch’s walking sticks.

Sarcasm and Math, What more could a boy or girl want

March 19, 2012

This comic blog, is by funny the only funny thing you will ready in the next 30 year generational time period, that represents the time it takes for a generation to create a new generation. Boring huh, yeah  I know so go here to XKCD and waste some time.

Some examples.

This indeed would be nicer than a fish tank. Maybe the nerd in me?

Too funny, mind you come three o’clock when you are brain dead and still have another 40 hours in the work day to fill, it sometimes becomes impossible to laugh even though you find it funny. That is ok too. just shrug your shoulders and et a full block of chocolate. Everything will be ok.

Private Minimal Cube

February 17, 2012

[Via Design Milk]

This place is just amazing. Have I said that before on this site? surely not.

it seems as though through the restriction in space and the high density population the amazing current Japanese architects, are become a form of ‘zen master’ of minimal form and clean non clinical warmth.

Shinichi Ogawa and Associates, are responsible for this master piece, and as can be read in this beautiful article at Design-Milk .

Having a tree encompassed by the house (which includes smoked glass no less) is one of those dream boat things that you hope and prey that by some fortune you can install into your house, even if it is only on a window in a door between the garage and the street.

The rest of Shinichi & friends work is equally amazing, but lets not forget the fact that some terribly talented builders and his team with amazing attention to detail have work from the plan to create this building and give us a glimpse of what minimal heaven may look like if we are sent there after reading or watching too much grand designs.

Going to be planting a tree in our living room as soon as Mrs Panda agrees

Void Watches [via Design-Milk]

Sometimes a watch just grabs your eye. For me i want to buy every wrist watch in the world. No I will not share before you ask.

just stumbled upon this whilst reading some articles from one of the best design sites in the world IMHO.

Void watches. The half glass half metal façade is supposed to reflect the horizon. I don’t mind. They look beautiful.
